Steadfast through Change

HARVEST TIME!! My favorite time of year. It really is like a fresh breath of air to be on the farm and active in harvest activities. Everyone is involved and working in some aspect. And everyone is busy, but has enough time to chat on the radio or joke back and forth in the combine or while unloading trucks. Good family bonding…over work. I just love it!

And just because I love it so much, I happened to take more photos than I probably really need. But just think, like everything else farming changes as technology advances. These images will be worth a thousand words one day to help show and describe what agriculture looked like “back when I was young” to the kids we will have one day.

As people on earth, we are constantly going through changes, cycles and aging. While there are some changes that I love and enjoy (like getting married to my super wonderful husband), there are also those changes that I do not enjoy so much (living in town…or just being in town for more than two weeks without stepping into farm country).  So, it is reassuring to know that there is one thing that NEVER changes: our Lord.

“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the LORD who has compassion on you.” -Isaiah 54:10

“The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart from generation to generation.” -Psalm 33:11

As summer changes to fall, remember: no matter what stage or change that you may be going through in your life at this time, the Lord is steadfast and true. He is here to reassure you and give comfort. Go to Him. Ask for His help.
